IBB Golf Club is an international recreational and tourist site located in Abuja, the federal capital territory of Nigeria. It is located along Aso drive, in the beautiful city of Abuja. It is named after the former military President of Nigeria; Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida aka IBB.
The Golf Course occupies a land mass of about 101 hectres of land with a playing distance of 6,098m, and is bisected by a number of streams, ponds, and lakes with some bridges.
The IBB Golf club which is of international reputation, is one of the best in Africa.
The Golf course is a spectacular tourist site with great and lovely undulating green area. The Golf Course has other facilities like club house, club bar, restaurants, changing rooms, buggy hire, Trolley hire and driving range.
The building of IBB international Golf course started in 1987. The first phase was completed in 1992 and second phase in 1994. A major and reputable construction company called Julius Berger undertook the magnificent construction. Before the construction, the land mass was a very thick forest with small rivers and associated wild animals.
The IBB Golf course is a notable place in the beautiful and bustling part of Abuja city where Golfers and other visitors peacefully share nature with animals like crocodiles, monkeys and other friendly wildlife. The Golf course has hosted series of golf tournaments(national and international)
The Golf Club is also used for occasions and events like weddings, parties etc.
